Printful opens new location in Charlotte to accommodate rapidly growing business

This is the ecommerce company's first step to global expansion.
Charlotte, NC: Printful has opened a new location outside of
Charlotte, North Carolina, to accommodate the demand
of their 10K customers. Printful is a print-on-demand dropshipping company that prints and ships print products,
like t-shirts, for ecommerce retailers. It has grown 200% every year since it launched in 2013, and its client
base increases an average of 10% month over month.
Their new Charlotte facilities are 100,000 square feet, which is 3x larger than their HQ in California, and they
plan to invest $1,500,000 in the move. Printful plans to hire 30 new employees by the end of 2016, 100 by the
end of 2017, and 200 by the end of 2018.
North Carolina is home to other established textile companies. Charlotte offers close proximity to Printful's
suppliers and printers, and to an experienced workforce. It is also close to Printful's client base on the East
Coast and in the Midwest. When the new facilities are fully operational, approximately 70% of all orders will be

Printful was founded in 2013 by Lauris Liberts, an entrepreneur from Latvia (a European country in the Baltics).
Printful is part of the Draugiem Group,
an influential Latvian IT company co-founded by Liberts. The Draugiem Group launched the country's first social
network platform in 2004, and is home to 14 other successful startups.
Printful's first HQ opened in Burbank, California. One year later, they moved to a bigger facility in
Chatsworth, CA. Their team now consists of 130 people – 100 in the USA, and 30 in Latvia.
This is Printful's first step to expansion as they continue to scale their services globally. Over the next 5
years, they plan to open locations in other countries, like the UK and Australia.

The popular ecommerce platform Tictail launches its integration with on-demand print fulfillment company
Printful to offer print-on-demand services to Tictail individual online retailers. This news comes promptly
after Tictail announces their series B funding.
This step will make on-demand printing available to all of Tictail's users, as it will be the first POD
(Print on Demand) integration available on the ecommerce platform. Users will be able to create online
garment and print product stores without having physical access to the product, as everything would be
fulfilled and dropshipped by Printful.
This further strengthens the notion of the developing microniche ecommerce economy, giving the people
the necessary tools to manage and develop their own online stores with little to no upfront investment.
